Tug Hill Outfitters

We offer a variety of guided & self-guided kayak and canoe trips in the Central New York region between the months of May and October. As experienced paddlers, we also offer introductory kayak, surf ski, and racing/fitness paddling lessons. We are also experienced navigators and adventure racers, and offer hands-on map and compass navigation clinics, adventure races, and orienteering challenges. In the winter, when conditions allow, we offer scheduled group snowshoe outings on our privately owned, groomed XC ski and snowshoe trails. Tug Hill Outfitters is a part-time, family owned business. We hope to share our enthusiasm for the hobbies we love and our passion for the beautiful lands and waterways of CNY, with all of you!

Kayak Lessons

Options range from basic paddling strokes and kayak re-entry, to fitness paddling and intro to racing lessons that focus on using advanced gear like surf skis and wing paddles. Learn more and book a lesson.

Navigation

Try one of our super fun adventure races, where teams explore using only a map and compass to find hidden checkpoints, or set up a custom group navigation/orienteering training, which is excellent as a team building activity. Learn more.
